IDENTIC has delivered additional Bondstrand™ GRE piping to Nynäs AB to further extend the fire water ring line at their refinery in Nynäshamn. Phase III further extends the system which has been successfully in operation since the project began in 2011. To guarantee the robustness and reliability of the whole fire water system, even under extreme circumstances, Nynäs selected a 16” diameter Bondstrand™ Glassfiber Reinforced Epoxy pipe which is rated to 20 bar.
The GRE system is electrically conductive which avoids any risks from the build-up of static electricity and to prevent the occurrence of any sparks in the sensitive process areas of the refinery. The NOV Fiber Glass Systems approved installer, Onics Industriplast AB, was trained by IDENTIC and contracted by Nynäs to install the GRE pipe phase III extension in Nynäshamn.
